Samarra University’s College of Arts Explores the Concept of Social Intelligence in Scientific Seminar
The College of Arts at Samarra University shed light on the concept of “social intelligence” in a scientific seminar presented by Assistant Lecturers Saad Waleed Ahmed and Muthanna Hani Ahmed, both faculty members in the Media Department.
Waleed explained that social intelligence is the ability of an individual to understand and manage social relationships effectively—both with oneself and others. This type of intelligence includes various skills such as empathy, social awareness, emotional regulation, effective communication, and conflict resolution.
Hani added that studies and theories agree that youth is one of the most critical stages in a person’s life, as it shapes their path and life approach. This stage is marked by psychological, social, and physiological changes and represents the largest demographic segment of society.
The seminar concluded with a discussion involving students and lecturers on the topic, emphasizing that university students are the elite of society and the cornerstone of future development. The importance of social intelligence lies in building one’s character and achieving success in both professional and social spheres.
