The Civil Defense at the University of Samarra organizes a training course for self-protection teams
The Civil Defense Division at the University of Samarra organized a training course for newly established self-protection teams to prepare the university for potential accidents and disasters before they occur. Mr. Diaa Majid Ayash, head of the division, and Officer Kilani Ayash Mohammed from the Civil Defense Directorate led the course.
The course aimed to train the teams on how to detect accidents and disasters before they happen to avoid and mitigate their risks. This included identifying the type of burning material, whether solid, liquid, gaseous, or chemical, and the type used in fire extinguishers.
The instructors explained the responsibilities of the self-protection teams, which include guiding building occupants to escape routes and emergency exits, transferring valuable documents and records, providing first aid, boosting the morale of the building’s occupants, and most importantly, assisting fire and rescue, and ambulance teams in case of any emergency.
